"I don't know I just have a bad feeling in the back of my head you know?" Kat closed the lid of the suitcase and pulled it off the bed.
Chad walked over to her and kissed her cheek, "It's going to be fine, I promise." He grabbed the bag and went out of the room.
I so wish I could believe that Chad. She walked after him, "What if like the engines stall out and we fall out of the sky? Or a terrorist takes over the plane and crashes us into a building? Or a huge hol-" Chad grabbed her into a hug.
"Trust me, I've flown hundreds of times before it's not going to happen." He grabbed their luggage, "Now help me with this door," he laughed as he tried to open it with his foot. She grabbed the door and the keys to their 'just big enough for two' car. All those years of playing Tetris will finally come in handy Kat thought to herself as she tried to load more luggage then their car can fit. Chad hopped in the front drivers seat, "You ready? Flight leaves in forty-five minutes." Kat stuck out her tongue and closed the back of the tiny car. She got in the passenger side, "Alrighty let's get this goin." They backed out of the drive way and off to the airport.
"Maybe I should have updated my will before we left..." Kat said nervously.
"God, your still going on about that. We're going to be fine, please just drop it." She looked away.
"You don't have to be so snippy..." A single tear ran down her face.
He looked over at her, "I'm sorry, I....I didn't mean it like that." The car started to  drift into another lane. A semi laid on his horn barreling tword them. Kat screamed as she looked up, Chad looked over and swerved to avoid it.
"Let's hope those piolets can fly better then you can drive." She winced thinking once again about everything that could go wrong on the plane. They arrived at the terminal with 30 min left till their flight leaves. "There's the parking garage, right there." Kat pointed out a large building obviously the parking garage.
"Thanks babe," Chad smirked, rolling his eyes at the completely unnecessary comment. They pulled their car to the gate and payed enough for a two week stay. After three floors full of cars they finally found an open spot and unloaded their luggage. "Hey carry his one," he tossed a bag at her.
She stumbled backwards, "Geees whag you pack rocks?" She opened the bag a little, "Wait there really is rock in here, what the fuck Chad?"
"Sorry I just wanted to make that joke at least once in my life." He laughed out. She threw the bag back into the car. Real hilarious. She grabbed her suitcase and walked toward the elevator down to the terminal. "Hey! Wait for me!" He ran after her holding the rest of the suitcases. The slowest elevator in the world, five minutes of waiting, "Fuck, the stairs would have been faster by -" the doors of the elevator opened, "oh..." They loaded into the small elevator car with four other people Never ganna give you up never ganna let you down... Some odd elevator music. The man behind them started singing it quietly to himself, Kat looked back at him and he stopped. When she turned back around he started back up again. Three floors down they got off the elevator, "That song seriously is going to be stuck in my head the whole ride there..." Chad complained to anyone listening.
Now boarding flight 119 to France came over the intercom the instant they walked through the door. "Pick up the pace Chad!" Kat jokingly yelled back to Chad. He forced a grin and sped up his juggling of bags. They gave their tickets to the lady at the gate, she smiled a fake 'I'm not paid enough for this' smile.
Walking down the isle to the plane Kat stopped short. "What's wrong?" Chad asked.
"I just really think we shouldn't go on this trip."
"We've already paid, come on everything is going to be fine."
"I just -"
"NO! Ok I'm not canceling now, I've already taken off work and wasted a whole months salary on this. We're going!" Kat started to walk forward again.
B4...C4....D4....here we go E4 and E5. They took their seats as the flight attendants demonstrated how to put on your seatbelt and how to escape in case of emergency. "This is ganna be a great vacation," he smiled over to Kat in the seat next to him. She nodded with a phony smile, still uneasy about the plane. Chad looked out the window, right on the wing, he could see the engines firing up, getting ready to go. The captain came on the intercom telling the estimated arrival time and the weather conditions, and the plane started to move. Kat's breathing was getting heavier as the plane gained speed ans she felt the g's pushing against her chest. She just closed her eyes and tried to imagine herself somewhere else. Your laying down...relaxing on a beach....sand in your toes...breeze in your hair... Her breathing returned to normal and she quickly put herself to sleep. Chad looked ove at her sleeping and took the que for him to take a nap aswell.
Six of their twelve hours down, the plane ran into some heavy turbulence. Kat woke up and started to panic, she jumped out of her seat only to get forced back down by the seatbelt, she fumbled with it until she was released. Running down the isles of sleeping people until a attendant stopped her.
"Mrs is everything ok?" the attendant asked politely.
"What's going on! Is the plane going down?!"
The attendant chuckled, "No no no, this is normal. We hit a patch of rough air to put it simply." She took a water from the cart, "Here take this, no charge." Kat turned around and back to her seat. Chad was still asleep, she wanted to wake him up but knew he would be annoyed by her cowardous again. She drank half the water and started to doze back to sleep. Another hour later she woke up to the plane shaking again, this time not from turbulence. A flock of birds had been sucked into the engine right outside their window, the mix of bones jamming the parts and feathers igniting in the engine started it to malfunction. The plane was slowly loosing altitude now. The pilot was sleeping and left the trainee in charge, he didn't notice the declining altitude.  The plain had dropped ten thousand feet and started to shake more violently now, the captain woke up and looked at the gauges. He was startled when he saw how low they were and instantly tried to pull up, the added stress from missing the one engine caused the other to fail. They had lost all their engines and were going to crash.
"Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking, it appears as though we are going to crash. Please place your oxygen masks on and lifejackets over your chests. Make your peace with whatever gods you have, we might not make this one." The captain closed to line to the cabin, "Mitch it's been an honor serving with you."
"You too captain."
Kat and Chad had slept right through that announcement and awoke to find people all in a panic. "Wha-What's going on?" Kat asked the man in the row next to her.
"THE PLANE IS GOING DOWN!" he yelled with a look of terror.
She turned around and shook Chad awake, "The planes going down wake up! Chad wake up!" he opened his eyes and took in the scene. He instantly knew she wasn't just overreacting and the plane was really going down. "I knew we sh-" the plane smashed into the water below everyone jerked forward, Kat who had taken off her seatbelt smashed her head into the carryon rack. She was knocked out, but alive. Chad saw the plane's cabin was filling with water fast and knew he had to get out. He undid his harness, picked up Kat and headed for the back of the plane. He opened the hatch and gave a quick look in the plane for a life raft, the only one had been punctured in the crash. They would have to swim, he ripped a piece of his shirt and tied Kat's hands together. He through her over his shoulders and jumped out of he hatch into the frigid water. He swam out a good distance from the downed plane.
After an hour of swimming Kat finally regained consciousness "What....what happened? Where am I?"
"You got hit in the head and you passed out. I dragged you out of the plane." he undid the cloth holding her to his chest. "I've been swimming out here with you on my back for hours now." Chad was clearly growing tired, he could barely keep his head above the water anymore. He knew if they weren't rescued soon he'd be dead. "Kat I'm sorry," his head bobbed under the water, "I should have listened to you about this trip."
Kat swam forward and grabbed him, "No, I was just being nervous I didn't know this would happen. This is not your fault."
"Yes it is, and if we don't make it out of this I jut wanted you to know I'm sorry."
Kat slapped him across the face, "Don't talk like that we could be rescued at any time!" Chad smiled at her, even knowing they probably wouldn't survive.
Another couple of hours past, swimming for hours Chad's body was about to shut down on him. "Kat..." he went under the water.
"Chad!" she dived under the water after him, but in her weakened start she couldn't catch his rapidly sinking body. She needed air, she had to return to the surface. She resurfaced and cleared the salt water from her eyes, a rescue chopper was right above her and a stretcher was being lowered to her. "No! He just sank down you have to go after him!" her voice was not loud enough to be heard. A man in an bright orange rescue outfit scooped her up and put her on the stretcher. The chopper slowly started to lift them back up, tears running down her face she was begging for them to go back when in her heart she knew that it was too late. Chad was gone, no amounts of medicine or hospitals can bring him back. The rescue personnel pulled her into the chopper and secured her to the floor. They pulled out a mask and placed it over her mouth and nose.
"Breath deep," one of them said calmly as another prepped an IV for her. She closed her eyes forcing the pain she was feeling to fade to black.
The calm steady chirping of the hospital heart rate monitor woke Kat up. Rising in a panic not known where she was cause the machine to spike and send a signal to nearby nurses to assist her. They ran into the room and found her getting out of bed ripping off wires from her arms and chest. "Miss you need to calm down. Your safe here, your at Calm View hospital." She sat back down, realizing what had happened, just stunned not saddened just stunned.
Chad washed ashore on a deserted island in the middle of the Atlantic. He woke up choking on the ocean water that was feeling his lungs, rising up to his knees he puked up about a gallon of salt water. He rolled over onto his back catching his breath, the blaring sun shining into his eyes. Where am I? Sitting up he took in his surroundings, palm trees, pine trees, and red woods? What kind of place is this? He shouted out for anyone to hear him. No response. He walked along the beach of this strange island until he found a set of foot prints. He started running in the direction they were headed until thy turned into the dense mixed tree jungle. Someone's here...and I need to find them. He pressed out into the brush.
"You're all set to go miss," the doctor placed his charts down on the counter, "let's hope next we meet it's under happier circumstances." He patted her on the back and started walk out of the room. "Oh, and I'm sorry for your loss." Her gaze shifted out the window, and he left closing the door behind him.
Following the trail of broken branches and trampled foliage Chad soon found himself lost. He couldn't see the beach anymore and had no clue what way he came from even. A crack of a twig caught his attention, he shouted to anyone there. A rustling toward him from the bushes, a person looking exactly like him stepped out. "Who are you?" they both said simotiniously, "I just washed up on the beach...where did you come..." both once again speaking in sync. "My plane went down and I washed up here." the other having a similar story except he was on a cruise when it went down. "Well whoever you are we have to get off this island. I feel something wrong about this place." They both started back toward the way they thought the beach was.
Two hours of walking and they reached a metal door in the side of a mountain.
A small key hole was blown off and black soot blast marks surrounded it. Someone obviously wanted in by any means they could. Chad grabbed the side of the door and pulled it open. Crude wired lighting lit down a narrow hallway and a red light emanated at the end of the hall. Hesitantly they walked down the hall and toward the light.
"I don't know I just have a bad feeling in the back of my head you know?" Kat closed the lid of the suitcase and pulled it off the bed.
Chad furiously looked around the room. He was back at his house, in his bedroom. Did I imagine it all? "Chad? You know what I mean?" Kat asked again.
"The planes ganna go down!" Chad yelled in panic thinking he just had a vision of the future.
"Now you're just mocking me." She snarled back. Chad ran over and grabbed her by the shoulders.
"No, really I saw it. The plane crashes and we both almost die, and I'm on this island then the door then..." Chad stopped short on his story.
"Then what?"
"...then I was here again?" He sat down on the bed. "We're not going on this trip." A mix of disappointment and relief came across Kat's face.
Story I've been dabbling with...Would really appreciate some feedback on it.
